My name is Liz Greenhalgh and I am a member of Kent Street Community Church.  I have been serving in Romania since February 2009, starting out in Brasov, Transylvania, running a project in a Roma village for children, teenagers and mums.

In August 2016 I moved to a new location, Campina, where I initially spent four years supporting women to overcome their addiction problems at a Rehab Centre and also serving part time with my church.

I now serve full-time with the church, where I help to lead the thriving youth group, and help disciple the young people and provide opportunities in which they can grow.  I serve at the churches social canteen for the poor, delivering food out to the homes and helping at evangelistic events for the beneficiaries.  I keep in regular contact with a lady in prison, through writing letters, and also visit more vulnerable people, encouraging them and praying with them.

I set up the After School Project in 2020, and together with a team help those children who are a little older and still don`t know the basics, for example letters, reading and writing. They have fallen far behind in school and without support will have no opportunity to catch up.

The Lord more recently opened a door to expand this work, and I now spend regular time at the school of the  children who attend the After School Project. I support the teachers by working with children who are falling behind or need extra support in class. These children are mainly from the Roma community.

I have been part of the Elpis Ministry Team (formerly Ellel Ministries) since 2016, having completed their two year modular school in Bucharest. This involves monthly visits to the course and helping with ministry on the healing retreats.

Scott Jackson

Scott picture
Hi, my name is Scott Jackson, and I’m a cross cultural missionary working with Elim Missions in the nation of Macedonia.

Originally from King’s Church Warrington and also a part of the team at the Warrington House of Prayer, I moved to Skopje, the capital city of North Macedonia in 2020.

Working alongside other missionaries, we are working in partnership with Oaza Church Skopje to help develop a culture of missional discipleship, a culture of ‘family on mission’. Helping to train others in the church so that they can go and make more disciples. As a part of this, we are looking at how discipleship and mission go hand in hand with prayer and intercession, both on a local and wider level.

Within this, I am privileged to be involved in a number of ways in ministry. From being a part of and supporting a couple of Bible Studies and mission in my local area, to being a volunteer leader at Young Life, which is a Christian youth ministry, to being involved with the work of the local House of Prayer. Through these things and others, and with other people and church leaders, we are looking at how we can create a dynamic prayer-filled discipleship culture, pressing into God that His kingdom will come in Macedonia and that move of the Holy Spirit to stir hearts towards Him.

Where is Macedonia? Macedonia (or as it’s officially known as North Macedonia) was the southernmost part of the old Yugoslavia. It’s bordered by Greece to the south, Albania to the West, Bulgaria to the east, and Serbia and Kosovo to the North.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday.

Where and When

We meet at Kent Street Community Church, Latchford, Warrington, WA4 1BT, for our Sunday Services, starting at 10:30am and 6pm. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by one of our Door Stewards who can assist with any queries and show you where to sit.

Parking: This is in the streets adjacent to the church building.  We ask people to be considerate of our neighbours and not obstruct access to property.  We request that visitors do not park in the road outside the main entrance.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. There is a  disabled toilet (with baby changer) in the reception area.

Our Service

The service begins at 10:30am and 6pm with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, We typically have 3-4 songs lasting approximately 20 - 30 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of the church members or an invited speaker will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service. The service lasts approximately 1hour and 15 minutes in the morning and 1 hour 30 minutes in the evening.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after our evening service. It is a great way to meet people. All refreshments are free.

What about my kids?

During the morning service several of our volunteers run the Kids Church.

The children meet at 10.30am in the small hall.  On occasions they will come into the service to participate for a short time, or listen to a presentation specifically for them.

The Kids Church activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.
